Program Summary:

Join CSI Milwaukee for a behind-the-scenes look at the future Nature & Culture Museum of Wisconsin, the new home of the Milwaukee Public Museum and one of the most anticipated projects currently under construction in the region. Scheduled to open in 2027, the five-story facility draws inspiration from Wisconsin’s landscapes and Milwaukee’s historic three-river confluence, creating a design rooted in both nature and place.

Mortenson will provide a project overview followed by a guided tour of the site and an opportunity to hear directly from the team about the construction process, coordination efforts, sustainability considerations, and what goes into bringing a project of this scale to life. Depending on attendance, participants may rotate between presentation and tour groups before joining us afterward for happy hour networking at il Cervo.

Learning Objectives:

1. Understand the design vision and goals behind Milwaukee Public Museum’s future home.

2. Explore how large-scale museum projects move from concept through active construction.

3. Recognize project coordination and construction considerations involved in delivering a complex public project.

4. Identify sustainability and building features incorporated into the project’s long-term design strategy.

Mortenson is a national builder, developer, and engineering services provider with experience delivering complex projects across healthcare, sports, cultural, education, and commercial markets. The Mortenson team is leading construction of the future Milwaukee Public Museum and will provide project insights and a guided look at how this landmark project is coming together.
